ein tempel ist ein ort der ruhe und mediation. ein ort an dem man sich selbst finden kann und seinen geist reinigt. im rastafari glauben ist dies kein besonderer ort oder gebäude sondern der eigene körper. es benötigt keiner institution oder eines monuments, um sich selbst und dem göttlichen näher zu sein. folglich ist jeder tempel individuell und jedes individuum ein tempel. auf 20 beats erzählt c-ras über seine spirituelle reise zu sich selbst und erlaubt den zuhörern einen einblick in seinen tempel. der junge münchner entdeckte den rastafari glauben während seiner zahllosen reisen in das land seines vaters, der karibikinsel barbados. c-ras ist bereits seit längerem in der münchner szene mit seiner band greenery force aktiv. mit seinen zwei soloalben bei keller flavour -the high and mighty- und -concept of madness- etablierte er sich als veritabler hiphop produzent.

die -contact- ep von produzent hans hu$tle und sängerin tahnee matthiesen ist ein atmosphärisches, dunkles und intimes werk. stark inspiriert von größen wie portishead oder darkside, erschaffen die beiden münchner psychedelische klangwelten, die durch fokussierte arrangements zu abwechslungsreichen songs geformt werden. zerbrechliche, hauchzarte stimmen stehen im wechsel mit schweren bässen und scheppernden drums.

it has been eleven long years since urbs dropped his last album which was called “toujours le meme film”. back then, the musician, dj and producer created the soundtrack to a fictitious film noir, which was released on kruder & dorfmeister‘s g-stone label, but after touring europe he almost completely retreated from public life. he does not consider his creativity as being his career, but rather as a part of his life which rarely is subject to concrete planning, and that is why urbs quite consciously took his time to create his latest –untitledalbum.

l one ist ein junger münchner hiphop beatbastler und drumcomputer-liebhaber. mit nur 24 jahren hat er bereits eine beachtliche diskographie als produzent vorzuweisen. darunter die projekte der rap-crews atp “c’est la vie oder was?” (2016 auf bumm clack) sowie weltuntergäng’s “dogmatikers elfen” (2014 auf tieftonkultur) entspringen seiner mpc bzw. seiner sp1200 und haben für aufsehen in der münchner rapszene gesorgt. als teil von akere oder manufaktur wagte er sich in vergangenen jahren auch in neue genres und lieferte neue ansätze zu triphop und dubstep ab.
auf der “farska lp verarbeitet l one seine impressionen seiner kroatienurlaube 2015 und 2016. jeden tag ist hier ein stück am strand mit nur einer mpc60 entstanden, welches entweder die mahlzeit (2015) oder das getränk (2016) des abendessens des vorabends im titel trägt.

zum kommenden album des aus wien stammenden djs & produzenten urbs, veröffentlicht beat art department eine ep mit remixen von retrogott, brenk sinatra und cookin soul. es handelt sich nicht um ein instrumental-album, sondern um eine sammlung mit zwölf souligen hip hop-nummern, die mit handverlesenen vokalisten der internationalen rap-, dancehall- und soul-szene aufwarten. neben den new yorkern wordsworth von emc sowie r.a. the rugged man, finden sich u.a. ward 21 aus kingston, jamaika, voice monet aus new orleans, blu rum 13 von one self aus washington dc, als auch alte weggefährten wie der wiener skero oder der wahl-münchner blabbwona von abstract art auf dem album.
